Wave energy technology in spotlight on WA's south coast

The University of Western Australia's Wave Energy Research Centre (WERC) has deployed a Spotter buoy off Seal Island during the first week of January 2021.

Western Australia's south coast city of Albany could be a showroom for wave energy technology after the deployment of a monitoring buoy in King George Sound. This deployment represents the second wave-data recording device installation by the centre off the coast, with the effort of turning Albany into the international showroom for emerging green technology.
